Famous for its wine, the many chateaus of Bordeaux offer tours of their vineyards. Take a 40 min drive west of Bordeaux to St Emilion or go North to the well known Medoc wine region. If wine tours are not for you the seaside town of Arachon about an hour's drive from Bordeaux gives you a lovely glimpse of the coast.
